Once the immediate human crisis from the tsunami has been alleviated, the longer term consequences will manifest themselves. This region will be paying a significant economic cost in lost tourist income for years to come. The local dive businesses are no exception. The UK publication, Diver Magazine, one of the more web-friendly magazines, is maintaining this Post-Tsunami Dive Centre Operational Status Report on its site to keep track of this. Divers Alert Network also has a general update here with a more detailed listing here with links to local resources. Today, the best thing we can do is help with the humanitarian efforts in the best way we each can. In the long run, they need our business again.
